Que tal amigos

Seguimos preparando nuestra aventura y hoy le toca hacerle algunas cosillas al Range.

Os quiero mostrar lo que he acabado para optimizar el espacio del maletero de coche para tener todas las cosas lo más accesibles posible y al mismo tiempo, asegurándolo al máximo para que no vaya bailando la carga durante el viaje.

Tengo que aclarar que soy bastante manitas, me gusta la mecánica y soy capaz de arreglarme muchas cosas del coche. Y eso significa herramientas y peso, mucho peso.

Partiendo de esta premisa, he estudiado el cómo almacernarlo todo sin que moleste y que esté lo mas a mano posible para cualquier eventualidad que surja.

Para mis excursiones locales, tengo un baúl enorme en el que guardaba cosas menos necesarias, como el gato neumático, el taladro y la llave de impacto así como los bidones de refrigerante, aceite y liquido de frenos y los cables largos para un puente, por si acaso.

Además,siempre llevo un soporte de amortiguador trasero y algún que otro manguito de urgencia. En la foto de mas abajo vereís las dos cajas metalicas, una es de 25 kg de herramientas y la otra es de tornillos, remaches, tuercas, machos para roscas y  todo tipo de soldaduras frias y pegamentos bicomponentes y que todo ello, en más de una ocasión me han salvado de quedarme tirado.

We are still preparing our adventure and today it's time to do something to our Range.



I want to show you what I finished to optimize the space of the car trunk to carry all things as accessible as possible and at the same time, ensuring it to the maximum in order don't go  dancing the load during the trip.


I have to clarify that I am pretty handy, I like mechanics and I am able to fix many things in the car. And that means tools and weight, a lot of weight.


Starting from this premise, I studied how to store everything without bothering and that is as close to hand as possible for any eventuality that may arise.


For my local excursions, I have a huge trunk in which I kept less necessary things, like the pneumatic jack, the drill and the impact wrench as well as the refrigerant, oil and brake fluid and the long cables for a bridge, for if anything.



In addition, I always carry a rear shock absorber support and occasional emergency hose. In the photo below you will see the two metal boxes, one is 25 kg of tools and the other is of screws, rivets, nuts, cores for threads and all kinds of cold solders and two-component glues and that all this, in more than Once they saved me from being "out of service".

Conocí a Salvador, un cuatrocuatrero con un 110 TD5 de Masquefa con el que coincidí en muchas cosas relacionadas con el 4x4 y que me vendió una mágnifica cajonera hecha por él que en principio era para un Toyota. La sorpresa fué que me entró en el Range (después de desvalijar todo el maletero excepto la rueda de repuesto).

He tenido que despojar del vestido trasero de los sillones para que encajara dentro y he sutituido el plástico rígido embellecedor por una moqueta.

La segunda fase ha sido construir un cajón lateral para maximizar el espacio. Lo he hecho yo mismo con contrachapado de 10 mm y revestido con moqueta. La tapa es sobrepuesta y se fija por tres cierres de muelle para evitar que la tapa moleste para acceder al interior, simplemente se tira de ella para arriba y para ponerla, solo basta presionar la tapa para que encaje en los anclajes de muelle.

I had to strip the back of the armchairs to fit inside and replaced the rigid plastic cover with a carpet.



The second phase has been to build a lateral drawer to maximize space. I did it myself with 10 mm plywood and covered with carpet. The cover is superimposed and fixed by three spring locks to prevent the lid from bothering the interior, simply pull it up and to put it on, just press the lid to fit the spring locks.

En principio, pensaba hacer una extructura de aluminio para soportar la cajonera y que me quedara más alta para aprovechar el hueco para un deposito de 100 lts de agua limpia y ademas de poder guardar la mesa y las sillas de campnig. Esto lo he descartado de momento, demasiado peso adicional innecesario.
Comportaba desmontar los dos sillones traseros para tener el espacio suficiente para el depósito de agua y la nevera. 

Si tengo el espacio suficiente para todo, sólo desmontaré la parte del sillón trasero del lado conductor, es más pequeño y es donde normalmente llevo la nevera. La mesa de camping la pondré en una extructura que me haré para que vaya colgada en el techo del coche. 

En  la próxima foto podreís ver todo ya colocado de lo que va en el maletero, Me faltará la mesa y en el cajon de la izquierda, llenarlo de  la cocina y todos los accesorios de ella ademas de almacén de bebidas, latas, etc.



At the begining, I thought to make an aluminum structure to support the drawer and that I would stay higher to take advantage of the space for a 100 liter tank of clean water and also to be able to store the table and campnig chairs. This I have discarded at the moment, too much unnecessary additional weight.

It involved disassembling the two back chairs to have enough space for the water tank and the refrigerator.


If I have enough space for everything, I will only disassemble the part of the rear chair on the driver's side, it is smaller and this is where I normally carry the refrigerator. I will put the camping table in a structure that I will make so that it is hung on the roof of the car.



In the next photo you can see everything already placed of what goes in the trunk, I will miss the table and in the left drawer, fill it with the kitchen and all the accessories of it plus a store for drinks, cans, etc.

 Empezando por la  izquierda la bolsa contiene una maleta vintage que va llena de atrezzo y accesorios para mi pasión fotográfica, la caja metalica que contiene todos tipo de cosas para la mecánica, tornillos remaches etc., el bidón de 20 lts para gasoil y la completísima caja de herramientas. En el cajón lateral y a primera vista está el compresor de 2 pistones 12 bar y 150 l/m de caudal, me permite hinchar la rueda en menos de un min. Detrás de el van todos lo bidones de aceite, refrigerante y líquidos varios y el gato neumático, todo ello emtido en el cajón lateral. En el baúl trasero de la cajonera he puesto una bolas con ropa que siempre llevo conmigo con un anorak, un polar y unos pantalones por si acaso. también he puesto allí la pala y dos sillas pequeñas de emergencia además de los triángulos y hermillas reflectantes reglamentarias.

En éste cajón están almacenadas 3 slingas, una de 10 m de 10 tm, otra de 5 m de 10 tm y otra de 15 m  de 5 tm ademas del cable del whinch y una mochila con cables y cargadores varios para todos lo artefactos que necesito cargar durante el viaje.

He reservado el cajón izquiedo para la cocina y todos los utensilios necesarios para poder cocinar además de servir tambien de despensa.

In this drawer are stored 3 traps, one of 10 m & 10 Tn, other of 5 m of 10 Tn and another of 15 m of 5 Tn, in addition we have too the whinch cable and a backpack with cables and several chargers for all the devices I need charge during the trip.




I have reserved the left drawer for the kitchen and all the necessary utensils to be able to cook as well as serving as a pantry.

Next step: I don't know now, we will see.....
